Meet The Team
Fernando Lonergan - National Manager, CWT Meetings & Events/Leisure
Fernando Lonergan is the National Manager of Carlson Wagonlit Travel Meetings and Events division. Fernando has overall responsibility for managing CWT Meetings and Events / Leisure providing clients with a seamless transition to this specialised area. Fernando has 10 years domestic and international event, tourism and marketing experience across both MICE and leisure arenas. He joined CWT in April 2007 and previously held roles in Australia, Canada and London in tourism, marketing, business events, government and executive education sectors. He brings sound leadership and experience to the team.
Julie Plant - Operations Manager, CWT Meetings & Events
Julie, the newest member of the CWT M&E Team, brings with her over 14 years combined experience in hotels and event management.
Prior to joining CWT, Julie held the position of General Manager within a Boutique Incentive
house where she was responsible for the operational and fiscal business activities including:
Account and Logistic Management; Human Resources; IT & Web design.
Professionally managing conference and incentive programs across a wide range of industries,
she has lead meetings & events in both Australia and overseas, for anywhere from 20 to 1,000
attendees.
Julie’s proven track record of providing professional care; expertise; methodology and
technical support enable her to provide exceptional Operations Management to the CWT M&E
Team.
Shauna Whitehead - Product Manager, CWT Meetings & Events
Shauna has worked in the Travel and Tourism Industry for the past 12 years, specialising in
Meetings & Events since 2001.
Starting out in Retail Travel, Shauna integrated her skills and knowledge to diversify into
managing Group Travel, Conferences, and Events.
Her group air experience lead to the set up of specialty area - Regional Group Travel
Management, which is run out of the Sydney based M&E Department.
Having worked for CWT M&E Team for the past 8 years, Shauna has performed a variety of
roles within the department, is easily adaptable and multi-skilled in Operations; Sales; Account
Management; Technology & Development. She enjoys working for such a well respected company that
holds their people in such high regard.
Shauna’s philosophy is knowing that each day is different, and no one group is ever the same.
She likes a challenge and strives to ensure a proactive approach is always on offer; constantly
reinventing the wheel and coming up with new ideas in order to achieve results for both clients and
CWT M&E.
Sarah Willoughby - Supervisor, CWT Meetings & Events
Sarah Willoughby has been in the Meetings & Events industry for 2 years; her main priorities
being Regional Group Flight Fulfillment, and following great success was recently promoted to
Supervisor of the Meetings and Events department. Sarah has been employed with CWT for 3 years (1.5
years in Melbourne and Sydney respectively), and prior to her role as Supervisor, Sarah was
actively enjoying working on corporate accounts. Sarah has enjoyed 6yrs in the travel industry but
the last 18 months have proven to be the most rewarding for her, and she has finally discovered her
niche within the Meetings and Events Department and enjoys working with her team to make every
event a huge success.
Sarah has managed Group Flight Fulfillment for the very small corporate meetings of 80
passengers, to the very large incentive travel groups of 1700+ and on a much larger scale and in
cooperation with other Meeting and Event Departments within CWT offices around the globe, has had
great success working on Regional Programs to the likes of the World Justice Forum in Vienna which
consisted of a total of approximately 3000 attendees from around the globe.
