Unique comforts in Lufthansa's new terminal waiting area at Frankfurt

Foto: LufthansaLufthansa had opened a new and innovative gate area in Terminal 1’s Pier at Frankfurt Airport. And that is where Lufthansa passengers will experience a new dimension in travel on the ground.

Boarding will take place on two levels via generously proportioned passenger bridges, each with four escalators, which means the gate is already ideally prepared for the double-deck Airbus A380. On Level 2 of this new Lufthansa Terminal waiting area are the open and spaciously laid out gates for Economy Class, which also provide a fabulous panorama over the airport apron.

On Level 3, First and Business Class passengers and status customers can expect a totally new travel environment. Here the waiting areas – known as the Priority Gates – have been designed in the style of a Business Class Lounge, with all the amenities. And there’s something really special too: for the first time it will be possible to board an aircraft directly from this waiting area. All premium passengers are therefore able to enjoy the advantages of these new Priority Gates until their flight is ready to board. They can then make their way calmly to the aircraft - quickly, conveniently and direct - a further enhancement to the overall experience of premium level travel.

Right next to the Priority Gates/Business Lounges is a new Senator Lounge with around 900m², with a superb bird’s-eye view of the comings and goings at the airport. Here, First Class Passengers, Senators and HON Circle Members can experience first class service in a refined atmosphere.

A year before the Airbus A380 arrives at Frankfurt, the passenger gate areas of the future are already taking off!
