Carlson Wagonlit Travel has a long history in the Netherlands. The first office at the Dam
Square in Amsterdam opened in 1927 and soon more agencies located throughout the Netherlands opened
their doors. At first all agencies handled both business and leisure travel.
As the market changed the management team decided in the early nineties to focus more on
business travel in all its aspects. After the strategic joint venture between Wagonlit and Carlson
in 1997, a network of Business Travel Centres, all with centralised business travel
activities, was set up.
The last few decades Carlson Wagonlit Travel Netherlands has grown and expanded into one of today’s major players in the Dutch market.
