E-ticketing

E(lectronic)-tickets make paper tickets redundant. You don't have to worry anymore about forgetting or loosing your ticket. Besides that you will save valuable time because your ticket is sent to you by e-mail and you don't have to collect your ticket anymore. Travelling with e-tickets is possible to almost every destination.

What is an e-ticket?
As a passenger you have the same rights with an electronic ticket as with a paper ticket. The difference is that an e-ticket is stored in the database of your particular airline. The ticket details are sent to the traveller by E-mail, who prints them out himself. Naturally we will continue to send you an itinerary for each flight reservation.

How does E-ticketing work:

  • The reservation
When you make a reservation, the CWT counselor will inform you when it's not possible to use an electronic ticket. After the reservation has been made you will receive a travel confirmation with all reserved flights and eventual other reservations. Fare conditions which apply to this journey also apply to the e-ticket.
  • The check-in procedure
Many airlines nowadays offer check-in possibilities by phone or online through their website. This way you don’t have to go to the check-in desk at the airport anymore, unless you need to check in luggage. If you don’t want to or can’t check-in online, at the airport you can go directly to the airline check-in desk with your printed e-ticket. You will receive your boarding pass and a receipt for your checked-in luggage.
  • What to do when you want to make some alterations to your flight schedule?
You can alter your reservation by contacting Carlson Wagonlit Travel or your particular airline. Both parties can make alternations in your flight details. If the fare conditions of the ticket require an additional charge for these alterations, this will automatically be charged to the credit card used. Should your change of itinerary require a switch of airlines, the e-ticket needs to be printed anyway and be handed over to the other airline.
  • What happens if you cancel your journey?
If you wish to cancel all or part of your journey please contact Carlson Wagonlit Travel, or your particular airline. In any event always advise your Carlson Wagonlit Travel office that you have not used all or part of your ticket. This will enable us to request a refund on the unused ticked.
  • Can I also get a paper ticket instead of an e-ticket ?
It is still possible to to get a paper ticket, but the airline will charge you extra costs for it. (see below).
