Late-breaking news affecting travel
Bangkok unrest grows, local CWT Service Center announces reduced hours May 19-21 | 01:15 PM GMT, May 18, 2010
As reported via numerous
CWT Alerts over the past few weeks, anti-government protests continue to grow in Bangkok,
Thailand. Today, the Government has declared emergency public holidays May 19–21 for the Government
sector and as optional public holidays for the private sector. In light of this announcement and to
ensure the welfare of CWT employees,
CWT will close the Service Centre in Bangkok for this public holiday.
CWT clients are encouraged to consider this in relation to policy for their travelers at this
stage as the situation remains volatile and unpredictable.
Note for CWT clients based in Bangkok:
During the period 19-21 May, CWT will provide a limited service for urgent travel requests as
follows:
Dates: 19-21 May 2010 (inclusive)
Service: For travel within 24 hours only and repatriation requirements

Clients are encouraged to further distribute this information as appropriate to travellers
and travel arrangers, including any customizable traveller intranet sites and online-booking tool
capabilities.
Note for CWT clients not based in Bangkok:
CWT clients are encouraged to run Traveler Locator reports in the
CWT Program Management Center (PMC) to identify any affected travelers.
Those clients not currently using the
CWT PMC on a daily basis for all countries in their program should follow their usual
process in working with their program manager to identify potentially affected travelers.
CWT continues to monitor the situation and the impact on call activity and will provide
updates if necessary.
