Floyd Widener Adding Global Program Management to His Scope of Responsibilities in EMEA

PARIS, MARCH 11, 2009 — Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT), a global leader specializing in business travel management, has announced that Floyd Widener, currently vice president Global Sales EMEA, will lead both the global sales and global program management teams in EMEA, beginning in April. Based in Paris, he will report to Cathy Voss, executive vice president Global Program solutions, and Håkan Ericsson, president EMEA and Latin America. Jim Tweedie, currently executive vice president Global Program Management EMEA, will be leaving CWT after 25 successful years with the company.

 

Mr. Widener, age 43, joined CWT in March 2006. Over the last three years, he has successfully restructured the EMEA sales network and led major sales wins, including Fortune 500 clients, in the region or globally.

 

Prior to joining CWT, Mr. Widener spent eight years at Sabre, occupying successively the positions of director Sales & Marketing France, managing director France and vice president Emerging Business EMEA.

 

Commenting on his new responsibilities, Ms. Voss said, “Floyd will play a key role in integrating our sales and program management strategy in EMEA. His proven track record and extensive knowledge of the industry will contribute to the continued development of our business and bring even greater value to our clients.”

 

Mr. Ericsson added, “Our clients are increasingly consolidating their travel programs on a regional or global basis for greater consistency and savings. By bringing sales and program management together under Floyd’s leadership in EMEA, CWT can offer new and existing clients a more seamless approach to consolidation.”

 

A California native, Mr. Widener is a graduate of San Diego State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in management and literature. He has lived in Europe for the last 17 years and holds dual U.S. and French citizenship.
