Berthold Trenkel

Berthold Trenkel is primarily responsible for driving continued efficiency and client satisfaction at the point of sale. He oversees traveler and transaction services worldwide, those activities and operations related to traveler support and the handling of CWT client bookings on- and offline. Based in Paris, he is a member of the global executive team. In his prior position at CWT, Mr. Trenkel was president Asia Pacific.

Before joining CWT in January 2005, Mr. Trenkel was with McKinsey & Company, where, for four years, he co-led their travel and logistics practice and oversaw the airline sector in Asia. In his decade-long career at McKinsey, both in Stuttgart, Germany, and Seoul, South Korea, Mr. Trenkel focused on strategy, corporate finance and operations for clients in a variety of business sectors. He was elected partner in 2000.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Mr. Trenkel managed his own software company for 12 years, specializing in accounting software. He is co-author of a book, Do IT Smart: Seven Rules for Superior Information Technology Performance, which has been published in Chinese, English and German.

Mr. Trenkel, a German citizen, completed a Master of Electrical Engineering in 1990 at the University of Stuttgart, where he also earned a Master of Business Administration in 1993.
