Two of the three airlines that previously imposed total bans on in-flight use of Apple and Dell laptops recently revised their restrictions. Virgin Atlantic Airways and Qantas Airways recently eased their policies, now allowing in-flight use of these laptops with certain provisions. Korean Air is maintaining the ban, which was initially prompted by an August recall of more than five million Sony batteries from Apple and Dell laptops, due to instances of those batteries overheating and starting fires.
