Survive – and maybe even maximize – red-eye flights
At times, the demands of business force travelers to take red-eye flights. Making the best of these situations is even more important if travelers are expected to go straight from an overnight flight to work. Following are some tips Fodor’s Travel Wire provides to help travelers make the best of these flights:
Book the roomiest seat allowed by the company’s corporate travel policy. If flying in business class isn’t an option, decide whether an isle or window seat would be most comfortable and reserve it immediately
Carry onboard any items that can make sleeping easier, whether it be earplugs, music and headphones, fuzzy socks or an eye mask
Try to follow a normal nightly routine before attempting to sleep by writing in a journal, listening to music, quietly reflecting on the day’s events, etc.
