By this March, passengers seated in the first 11 rows of JetBlue’s Airbus 320 fleet will begin enjoying more leg room. The carrier recently announced it will remove a row of seats and reconfigure the cabin, giving travelers in rows one through eleven 36 inches of space between their seat and the seat in front of them.
The reconfiguration will save JetBlue an estimated $30 million USD over the next five years, as the weight of the aircraft will be reduced by approximately 904 pounds, reducing the amount of fuel burned; and the required number of crew members can be reduced to three.
