As business travel expands throughout North America and
internationally, airlines are continuously adding new routes to keep up with the increasing demand.
The grid below outlines some of the top new routes recently announced by airlines.
Air Canada offers additional customer service for a price
Air Canada in April announced its
new service called “On My Way.” By paying an extra fee, passengers are provided with added services
when plans have been disrupted by flight delays beyond the control of airlines. The ”On My Way”
option is available for all Air Canada and Jazz-operated flights within Canada as well as to and
from the United States. With this service, the airline will find alternate flights on Air Canada or
others airlines and, if necessary, will provide complimentary meals and hotel accommodations.
For a cost of $25 for short-haul flights or $35 for long-haul flights (each way), Air Canada
will provide travel and accommodation solutions when flights have been disrupted. Customers who
sign up for the service will also receive telephone access to customer service agents who will
arrange all necessary flight, hotel, meal, and/or car accommodations. In addition, automatic flight
information updates will be communicated to these passengers. The assistance does not apply in
circumstances when customers voluntarily cancel or change their flights.
