Aviation Safety Action Programs back in favor
The United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been encouraging airlines to reinstate Aviation Safety Action Programs (ASAP). These programs encourage flight crews to submit reports citing their safety-related concerns without fear of repercussions. This is intended to provide more accurate reporting and create actionable safety plans for the airlines to avoid recurrence of similar safety incidents.
With safety at top of mind, travelers can use the FAA Website (www.faa.gov) as a resource to find accident/incident reports and safety reports, as well as a number of other statistics, data, and tips regarding aviation safety.
