U.S. Customs and Border Protection recently expanded its Global Entry international registered traveler pilot program, making it available at 20 airports across the United States.
The program, originally launched in June 2008, is a voluntary program designed to speed up the entry process for pre-screened U.S. citizens or permanent residents* returning to the United States from abroad. Members submit to an interview process and the collection of fingerprint biometric information. They can then use the Global Entry kiosks to bypass the standard international arrivals process at participating airports.
The program is now available at the following U.S. airports:
* Citizens of the Netherlands may also apply under a special reciprocal arrangement that links Global Entry with the Privium program in Amsterdam.
Additional information about the program can be found at the CBP website.
