ESTA-procedure mandatory from 12 Jan. 2009 for travellers to the USA
From 12 Jan. 2009 it is mandatory for travellers to the USA with a Dutch passport to complete the ESTA form.
Travellers to the US with a passport from a country that is part of the Visa Waiver Program, such as The Netherlands, must answer a few questions through the new online system (ESTA). The questions are regarding passport and medical details and legal or criminal aspects etc.
The entered data will be valid for two years or until the passport expires. More information about this new rule (optional for departures until 12 January 2009) can be found on the official site of the US Government.

Free registration for IRIS-scan in UK
The Iris Recognition Immigration System is a precise and secure way to speed up identity and immigration procedures upon arrival in the UK. Thanks to the unique iris pattern of the eye, identification takes just a click of a special camera. Passengers can register for IRIS free of charge, which takes 5-10 minutes initially. After that they go through immigration in just 20 seconds to enter the UK.
Opening Hotel con Corazon in Nicaragua
On 11 October 2008, Hotel con Corazon in Granada (Nicaragua) opened her doors. Why this attention to a hotel so far away? Well, CWT the Netherlands feels very united to this hotel. It’s a project of two Dutch initiators with a noble goal: the school costs for the children of the local population will be paid from the profit. Moreover, this hotel provides employment in the poor country of Nicaragua.
The project started in 2006 with an initial capital that was raised through fundraising by several funds and sponsors. Little by little new gifts came in, resulting in the festive opening in Granada last 11 October. This was done all over again on 1 November in the Netherlands. At this second party an entrance fee was required, which of course also went directly into the bank account of Hotel con Corazon.
We as CWT are very proud of this project, not only because we as a company have heartened this project financially. Also employees from CWT litterally worked on the creation of this hotel; some travelled to Nicaragua to roll up their sleeves themselves, and a great few have donated their end-of-year bonuses. Others have raised money for Hotel con Corazon during two ‘Dam tot Dam’-runs. But mostly we feel deep respect for the initiators Onno Oostveen and Marcel Zuidhof who quit their well paid jobs in the Netherlands for the fulfilment of their ideal.
