Air France is continuing to innovate by introducing a new, private cabin on its long-haul flights, starting in autumn 2009, situated between the Business and Economy cabins, called Premium Voyageur.
With new seats, which are specially designed for Air France and equipped with a fixed shell which guarantees passengers’ space and privacy and a 40% additional space.
Starting on 1 April 2009, customers will be able to book and purchase their seat in the
Premium Voyageur cabin. The first available destinations will be New York-JFK, Tokyo and Osaka.
Air France is also offering a highly competitive range of fares, accessible to all and
particularly well adapted to the needs of small and medium-sized businesses. These fares will
enable customers to move on from the comfort of the economy cabin to a dedicated private seat area
in Premium Voyageur.
On average, 22 Premium Voyageur seats will be available over an area which before had 40
seats in the Economy cabin. The seat is 48 cm wide, with a 123° seat back recline, without being
intrusive for the passenger sitting just behind, thanks to the fixed shell. Wide leather arm rests
(10cm) enable passengers to rest their elbows without bothering their neighbours.
The seats come with a 10.4 inch (26 cm) wide individual video screen enabling passengers to enjoy 500 hours of viewing on demand which Air France offers on all its long-haul flights.
In this intermediary cabin range, Air France is the first European airline to offer
fixed-shell seats, and the first airline in the world to offer so much legroom.
