Female travellers cost less, fly less and book earlier
At the Crossroads Paris conference - organised by the Paragon Partnership and attended by 200 delegates from Europe and America – Mr Gall stated that women fly less, purchase earlier, more often choose for economy class tickets and incur fewer costs than male business travellers.
Not only do they book much earlier than men but they get noticeably cheaper flights, said Christian Gall, the card company's executive director international markets AirPlus International, who initiated the research.
On average a female traveller books her flight 19.2 days before travelling. For men the comparable figure was 15.4 days. Women paid an average air fare of € 1505,- for business class and € 230,- for economy class against € 1575,- and € 277,- for men.

Business traveller can do without the use of mobile phone or internet during flights
Business travellers have absolutely no need for using their mobile phone during flights. Next to that they do not see a real necessity to access the internet. This emerged from a research of Carlson Wagonlit Travel.
Concerning the use of mobile phones, the business traveller fears to be confronted with loud phone calls that will keep him/her from working or sleeping. On the other hand business travellers are positive on the possibility of text messaging during flights.
The use of internet during flights is also not perceived as an important gain. ‘Nothing is that important that it cannot wait until we land’. Nevertheless a part of the respondents think that it would be quite useful to be able to check email, especially during long distance flights.
