TAP is the best airline in the world
In an awards ceremony held in Madrid on the evening of 26 April, 2010, TAP was announced as the
best airline in the world by the prestigious international travel magazine ‘Condé Nast Traveller’.
"The quality of TAP over the last few years has been rewarded both on a national and international
level, but this particular award is very special and fills us with pride because the high standards
and quality of selection of Condé Nast are well-known" said Fernando Pinto, CEO of the airline upon
discovering TAP had won the award.
The December 2009 edition published a ‘gold list’ with 350 candidates spanning all these
categories with the selection taking into account the magazine's readers’ votes, submitted by the
end of February. The award of this prize to TAP is also a recognition of the quality of the company
and its irreplaceable role in the tourism sector.
