Since its launch in April 2012, more than 850 developers worldwide have signed up to use WorldMate’s API, including major travel agencies, GDSs, and travel-related startups.
With the WorldMate Email Parsing API, developers can extract detailed travel data from users’ confirmation emails spanning more than 1,300 airlines, travel agencies, car rental and railway companies, as well as popular services like OpenTable, Airbnb and Ticketmaster. The API enables licensees to piece together rich customer profiles by gleaning key pieces of information from their confirmation emails, including:
Dates and locations of upcoming trips
Addresses and geocodes for booked hotels, restaurants and events
Prices and confirmation numbers for flights, hotel stays, car rentals and train rides
Loyalty club memberships
Preferred booking channels
Over time, the API licensees collect such information to ascertain preferred airlines, repeat trips, typical budgets and various other customer preferences.
