CWT Announces New Chief Legal Counsel

Lauren Aste becomes executive vice president & general counsel

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) today announced that Lauren Aste has been promoted to executive vice president & general counsel effective September 8, 2014.

Aste succeeds Jerry Hogan who retires as General Counsel of CWT after 39 years with CWT and Carlson.

Based in London, Aste will report to Douglas Anderson, CWT president & CEO, and will be a member of the global executive team. Aste joined CWT in 2007 and brings with her strong background in mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate finance and financial reporting, international securities offerings and other types of commercial transactions. Most recently, she has been responsible for overseeing CWT’s EMEA and APAC-based legal teams.

Prior to joining CWT, Aste had a successful career in private practice at Dechert LLP in London and at Chadbourne & Parke LLP in New York. Aste is admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of England & Wales and is a member of the New York and Connecticut State Bars.

Aste holds a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. She also holds a Master of Arts in French Studies from New York University Graduate School of Arts and Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French from Wellesley College.
