CWT Leisure: City trips and ice-cream parlors

Spring is the perfect season for a city trip! How about a short city break over a long weekend in May? This time of year is also when ice-cream parlors all over the world open their doors again, switch on their ice-cream machines and serve their latest delicious creations. You can recognize a good ice-cream parlor by the long queues outside and the small, mysterious packages that locals take home with them.

In Paris, for example, ice-cream made by Berthilion should not be missed. And Sergio Dondoli in San Gimignano in the homeland of this culinary delight is already an international brand.

But in Germany, too, ice-cream parlors are a common feature in any town. The country even has its own ice-cream creations, such as “spaghetti ice-cream” made of vanilla ice-cream and strawberry sauce, which was invented in Mannheim. Gelaterias are also hugely popular in Hamburg and Munich. But Berlin is the ultimate destination for those with a sweet tooth in Germany: The cream of the crop have even made it onto the Internet – classified by district.

If you are not yet sure where your sweet tooth will lead you, we will find the hippest ice-cream parlors in your city destination.
