New brand identity: Carlson Wagonlit Travel is now CWT

On February 18, Carlson Wagonlit Travel officially changed its name to CWT. The former abbreviation stands for the company’s three-pronged approach: CWT is the new name in digital business travel, hotel distribution and meetings and events. At the same time, it reflects the three pillars of our value proposition:

  • Simplifying business travel – by offering an uncomplicated, seamless travel experience – from intuitive user interfaces to integrated management tools

  • Connecting people and technologies to unlock possibilities – by providing content and services to travelers, travel managers and partners, enabling them to unlock people potential and business opportunities

  • Moving forward, together – by continuously innovating and evolving our offering to provide our clients with new and better ways to manage their corporate travel.

The three-letter classification honors the company’s heritage and represents its ambitions to become the global market leader for digital business travel, hotel distribution and meetings and events.

According to Kurt Ekert, President and CEO of CWT, “There’s a romantic link with the Wagons-Lits era, and we are justifiably proud of our 150-year heritage – however, today’s developments reinforce our intention to continue to lead our industry for the next century and a half.”

The business divisions CWT Energy Resources & Marine, CWT Meetings & Events, and the CWT Solutions Group will also benefit from the rebrand with new logos.
