Germany: Strikes announced for several German airports on 15 January

Update: According to recent reports, strikes are also planned at the airports in Bremen, Dresden, Erfurt, Hamburg, Hanover and Leipzig. The strike should also take place in Munich. The strike will only affect the screening of personnel and goods.

Security staff at Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) are set to stage a strike from 02:00 to 20:00 on 15 January. The industrial action is being organised by the Verdi union. If the strike takes place as planned, disruptions are to be expected throughout the day, including delays and longer waiting times at security checkpoints. Flight delays and cancellations cannot be ruled out.

Travelers should allow extra time to pass through airport security and confirm the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport.
