Business travel tip: Windhoek, way up high yet in the thick of things

Namibia – the very name summons images of a dusty desert, exciting wildlife viewing, and safaris in Etosha National Park. But the capital city of Windhoek, perched 1,600 meters up in the highlands, also has plenty of attractions to offer. For example, intriguing contrasts between the architecture of the colonial period and modern Western- and African-style buildings.


Thanks to its central location in the country, Windhoek serves as a traffic hub and starting point for tours in all directions. But while you’re there, why not enjoy all the marvels on view at the city’s museums and galleries? The capital of Namibia exudes a tranquility that almost seems Central European.
