CWT To Go celebrates first anniversary on WorldMate platform by making app available on three additional devices
14 MAY, 2014
Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) today announced CWT To Go™, its award-winning mobile app, is celebrating its first anniversary on the WorldMate platform and is now available on three new devices, making it accessible to an even wider global travel audience.
The app, which originally launched in 2011, migrated to the WorldMate platform in 2013 and can now be downloaded for free on Windows, Android smartphones and tablets and Kindle Fire from Amazon as well as iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry smartphones.
Since its migration to WorldMate in May 2013, 2.5 million trips have been synced to CWT To Go. It has received excellent user feedback, with ratings of 4 out of 5 on iTunes and 4.5 out of 5 on Google Play; one user describes it as the ‘Best app I have on my phone’ and another states they ‘Can’t do without it’. The app has an average 90 percent satisfaction rate and 90 percent of users say they would recommend the app.
In the last 12 months, CWT To Go™ has launched new functionalities including an enhanced mobile check-in ‘wizard’ that allows the user to drag and drop information into the airline’s mobile check-in site, and an improved share trip functionality that allows users to share as much or as little of their trip via email as they like; from the whole trip to individual components or developments related to a specific trip.
David Moran, executive vice president, Global Marketing & Enterprise Strategy at CWT, said, “CWT To Go™ has gone from strength to strength, providing an enhanced user experience and increasing our suite of tools that travelers need on the road, and we’re delighted that CWT To Go™ is now available on even more devices. As CWT To Go™ enters its second year, we look forward to making further improvements, including hotel, air and ground booking, and moving ahead with our ambition to continue to be the premier business travel app on the market.”
Voted Best Mobile Strategy at the EyeforTravel Mobile Innovation Awards 2013, the app features automatic itinerary synchronization with CWT-booked trips, flight alerts, mobile check-in, calendar sync, and destination information and tools, such as maps and a currency converter. CWT To Go™ is available exclusively to travelers of CWT clients worldwide. Travelers can add non-CWT itineraries to the app manually or via email, enabling them to use it for all their trips—business and leisure. CWT To Go™ provides reporting specifically on those business trips for travel managers to help provide even better visibility into program leakage.
Notes to Editors CWT To Go re-launched on the WorldMate platform in 2013 and can be downloaded for free on iPhone, iPad, Android tablets, Amazon Kindle Fire, and Windows, Android and Blackberry smartphones.
The app is offered in English for all devices and in French, German, Italian and Spanish for iOS devices and all Android-powered devices. The top five countries currently using the CWT To Go app are United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden and Australia.
To commemorate the first anniversary, CWT is encouraging CWT To Go users to join in on social media, using the hashtag #AppyBirthdayCWTToGo throughout May. Travelers who use the app are asked to share their messages and reviews of the app, with one traveler selected to become a ‘Traveler of the Month’, an initiative that will continue throughout 2014.
CWT has also released a persona puzzle, titled ‘Which Traveler Are You?’, which gives puzzle takers a chance to discover their traveler type and highlights the CWT To Go tools that will be most useful to them, such as flight alerts, mobile flight check-in, or the ability to forward personal as well as business itineraries to the app.
