CWT And Travelport Develop New Technology to Make Booking Travel Easier

Carlson Wagonlit Travel (CWT) UK and Travelport have together created an industry-leading global travel solution to help multinational clients benefit from highly-personalised service and the best possible deals wherever they are based.

CWT is the first TMC to use Travelport’s latest Smartpoint desktop technology which enables travellers in multiple countries to be served from a single centre while still benefitting from local fares and pricing.

The new integrated technology allows the traveller’s profile, including information on past and current trips and travel preferences to automatically appear on a consultant’s screen, and calls are handled by one dedicated central team.

Being able to immediately identify a client’s specific needs gives the CWT consultant the right information at their finger tips to enable them to give exceptional service to a diverse range of multinational clients. CWT is then able to instantly select the best setup for every individual traveller, saving them time and making the booking process even easier.

The trial programme was developed to meet a major financial services client’s objective of improving policy compliance and service to their travellers – its early success means that it can now be offered to other CWT clients.

“This new booking platform has transformed the booking process for our client and we are delighted to be able to work with Travelport to be the first in the industry to use this technology.” said Lyn Given, director of traveller services UK & Ireland.

Marcos Suñer, vice president, Travelport global accounts added; “Our close working relationship with CWT means we have been able to develop an industry first with a tool built with the latest technology. Following the successful implementation, we are looking at how CWT and our team can develop the tool further.”
